3D model of a ground attack aircraft designed by the American aerospace company McDonnell Douglas. It is an upgraded version of the British Hawker Siddeley Harrier, with improved capabilities and performance. The AV-8B Harrier II is primarily used by the United States Marine Corps, but has also been operated by the Spanish and Italian navies. The aircraft's primary role is close air support and ground attack missions, with the ability to operate from small forward bases or aircraft carriers. The first flight of the AV-8B Harrier II took place on November 9, 1981. It is also known as the "Jump Jet" due to its V/STOL capabilities.
