3D model of a portable cellular phone designed and manufactured by Motorola. Introduced in 1983, it is widely recognized as the first commercially available cellular phone. "DynaTAC stands for Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage. The phone was designed by a team led by Martin Cooper, who made the world's first cell phone call with a prototype in 1973. The DynaTAC 8000X was a large device by today's standards, measuring about 13 inches tall and weighing nearly 2 pounds. It had an LED display for dialing or recalling one of 30 stored phone numbers, and a single charge provided about 30 minutes of talk time.
