3D model of an iconic symbol of Paris, built for the 1889 Universal Exhibition and standing 1,063 feet tall. Named after its engineer, Gustave Eiffel, it was the tallest man-made structure for 41 years until the Chrysler Building in New York was completed. There are 20,000 light bulbs that illuminate the structure at night. It weighs 10,100 tonnes and has survived two world wars, lightning strikes and even a James Bond film stunt. A five-year renovation project in 2019 added glass floors, updated elevators and security measures, and a new restaurant, Jules Verne, on the second floor with panoramic views of the city. It is estimated that around 7 million people visit the Eiffel Tower every year, making it one of the most visited landmarks in the world.
