My old man was an artist at heart. He passed away when I was young but his spirit stayed alive in me. He always taught me to create. To make mistakes. And most importantly, don't be afraid to fail.

He used to say: "nothing lasts forever except for change."

"so embrace it, boy! Embrace everything!"

he's gone now. But still lives on in me.

And here I am. Ready to face the world.

Ready to become a wildfire.

***

It has been almost three years since the purchase of the car. It took a lot of time and effort to get the bodywork done.

But it was worth every single second.

After getting the bodywork done, I started up the engine.

I remembered the first time I heard the rumble.

That sound. That power. That feeling.

It was love at first sight.

I couldn't believe how such a machine could produce such wonderful noise.

I've never been much into cars. Never understood them.

Not until I met this car.

This Porsche, changed my life.

All my friends who were into cars. They loved their cars.

They all had something in common. They shared the same passion.

No matter what type of car it was, they all gave the same respect to it.

I did too. But it wasn't the same.

Before I bought her, I didn't give a damn about cars.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I was indifferent towards them.

Then I got her.

There was no way I'd ever go back to my indifference.

She was a part of me. She completed me.

I learned the value of hard work. I learnt how to appreciate art.

I felt the rush of adrenaline from the first time I drove her.

It was amazing. The power. The speed.

Everything.

With each passing day, she became more and more mine.

More of myself.

I began to take care of her.

I went through hell and back to make sure she was safe.

She was my baby. My masterpiece.

I made her my own.

I lived by her side.

I put my heart and soul into making her better.

Each and every detail.

I wanted to make her shine.

To make her roar.

To make her stand out.

Everyday I spent hours under the hood.

Tuning the engine.

Changing the oil.

Rusting the brake lines.

Refurbishing the suspension.

Reinstalling the new tires.

Overhauling the transmission.

Everything.

I was lost in her beauty.

I was obsessed with her.

I couldn't stop.

When I look at her now, I can see the love I put into her.

I remember my dad. I miss him.

I know he would be proud.

He would be so happy knowing that I finally found my passion.

I was going to dedicate this car to him.

Something that will remind me of his spirit.

His creativity. His drive.

His passion.

“The saddest people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there's nothing to make it last.”

― Nicholas Sparks, Dear John
