The stars have aligned for me to participate (again) in this annual contest:

1 - I got fired from my job in Switzerland (a bad for a good I assure you) = free time for the competition

2 - After a few exchanges with Hum3D he offered to redo it and gave me a boost to do it. (You guys are the best)

3 - My mentor was available to lend me a hand and share his expertise.

4 - A loving woman who allowed me to have free time to realize it.

5 - A new battle station that requires a powerful shout.

Overmotivated, here I am again on Hum3D 2 years later. If you don't know me: I only transport vehicles whose history bears a Driver, Passenger or Public mark.

I wanted to make this car for several years but for lack of experience I did not embark on the adventure. This car has been dubbed "Ferrari's killer" The Ford Gt40, let me tell you the story of what most Le Mans car enthusiasts consider to be: the best Ford ever:

"The story of the Ford GT40 begins after Ford failed to acquire Ferrari, when an angry Henry Ford II declared that he "wanted to win Le Mans in 1966". In order to achieve this goal, Ford Advanced Vehicles was formed with the task of creating a state-of-the-art GT car - a highly aerodynamic mid-engined coupe built around the 1963 Indianapolis 4.2-litre engine. The first prototypes of the car were launched in April 1964 and named GT40 due to the car being 40" tall. Three Ford GT40s competed at Le Mans 1964 and despite none of them finishing the race, a new lap record racing was set at 3:49.4 (131.7 mph).

In 1965, Carroll Shelby's Shelby-American took over the project and some major changes were made. More importantly, the engine was replaced with the 4.7-liter, 289-cubic-inch Shelby Cobra V8 that produced 385 hp. Colotti straight-cut gears were replaced with Ford helical gears, improvements were made to the clutch, driveshaft and fuel system. Much attention has also been paid to improving cooling and aerodynamics. The upgraded Ford GT40 debuted in the Daytona Continental Race in February 1965 taking first and third place. Unfortunately, none of the cars managed to finish Le Mans the year.

By mid-1965, the Ford GT40 had reached a sufficient level of development to be produced in larger numbers. In order to qualify for the production sports car class, 50 GT40s were made. Finally, in 1966, Ford will celebrate its three podiums at Le Mans and will dominate the world of sports car racing.

The street version was introduced in 1966 and with a price tag of £7,253 (15 times the price of an entry level Ford Anglia) was named 'the most expensive Ford ever'. Only 31 cars were produced."

This Project was completed in 4 weeks, the first contest I've done with the Corona rendering engine.
