Nostalgia

"I turned my head towards a high pitched honk. My eyes gleamed with excitement when I saw the Mini Cooper turn from around the corner. It was grandpa. We didn’t live in the city back then. It was a town house in the suburbs, across the bridge. We would drive past the woods in his Mini Cooper and grandpa regaled me with his fascinating tales. Today, I drove the same car to the woods, the place my grandpa loved to visit time and again. I chose to retain the car as it was, with all the scratches and dents as a memory of his being. As I sit here alone in his car, in the peaceful serenity, I’m reminiscing about my childhood hero, my grandpa."
