The Last Stand

"He knew this was his last chance to escape. He was the only one who was willing to stand against the violence of the State. He would never forgive what they did, to his beloved automotive culture and everything he stood for. His car was the center of his rebellion, a classic V8-powered AMC Javelin that still ran on combustible fuel. He knew he stood no chance against the powerful electric State police drones, but there was no better opportunity to make his point heard."

For this year's project, I imagined a dystopian future where the authoritarian government has wiped out all internal combustion engines and automotive brands, forcing citizens to walk or use public transport everywhere. This man is taking his "last stand" against the government as revenge, and his car is the perfect antithesis of everything they stand for. Modeled in Blender, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Cycles, post-processed in Photoshop. Total creation time approximately 3 months.
