The submission: Grandpa piloted the F-51D during the Korean War. Father and son built a '32 Ford Hot Rod to honor his legacy.
On a more personal note, I recently finishing building a 1/32 scale model of the F-51D and I thought it would be interesting to try to bring that iconic look to a deuce hot rod. Going into this project, I knew very little about hot rods and older cars in general... so I really enjoyed the process of learning about how they are built and how they function. When it came to rendering I knew I wanted a lower camera angle, with a play between the cool moonlight and the warm light from a pole barn garage. Octane recently came out with a Post Media fog, so it was absolutely amazing to have the volumetrics in real time from the moonlight and the hero lights.
