Named after the Greek explorer and adventurer, this rover allows for week-long explorations in hostile environments.

It's big wheels allow it to roll over rocks and debris as high as a human (their form is inspired by the latest NASA development and their size by 60s science fiction mono wheels).

Two heavy electro motors drive the rolling mecanisms within each wheel and are powered by a nuclear aggregate in the back of the cockpit.

The hydraulics connecting wheels and cockpit allow the rover to change its shape and adapt it to the terrain (narrow canyons, uneven terrain). They also allow its arms to go beyond the ground (accessing holes and other low underground structures.

The cockpit allows for two pilots to use instruments and drive the rover either by direct vision or indirect camera or radar via two wide screen displays. In the back half of the cockpit there is space for beds and supplies.

The scene shows a scientist having recently identified liquid under the planet's surface via its instruments and taking a closer look assisted by the rover that lifted the heavy rock to allow for a direct inspectation of the hole beneath it.
