The T-72 is a Soviet-era main battle tank that was first introduced in the early 1970s. It was designed to be a successor to the T-64 tank, and was developed to have improved firepower, mobility, and protection. The tank features a powerful 125mm smoothbore gun, a low-profile turret, and a highly effective composite armor that provides protection against most anti-tank weapons. The tank also has a relatively small size, allowing it to be highly maneuverable in different types of terrain. The T-72 has been widely exported and has seen combat in various conflicts around the world, and many different variants and upgrades have been developed over the years to improve its capabilities.
