3D model of a general-purpose frigate built for the Royal Navy and other navies during the Cold War era. The ship was approximately 113 meters in length and displaced around 3,500 tons. It had a maximum speed of over 30 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles. The frigates were armed with a 4.5-inch naval gun, anti-ship missiles, anti-submarine torpedoes, and depth charges. They also had advanced sensors, including radar and sonar systems, for detecting and tracking enemy vessels. The Leander-class frigates had a crew of around 250 and were designed for a range of naval operations, including anti-submarine warfare, escort duties, and patrol missions. Several Leander-class frigates were sold to other navies, including the New Zealand Navy and the Royal Australian Navy, where they remained in service until the 1990s.
