Eighth annual Hum3D competition for the best Car render. It’s the largest awards event for the car 3d modeling and visualization industry.
What you need to do: create a car 3d model, put it into 3D environment and make a beautiful render. There are no limits for your creative ideas: you can choose any automobile you like whether it is racing or imaginary vehicle. We invite all 3D artists to participate.
Don’t forget to read the rules of the contest.
We will pay attention to the visual component of your works, but this is not all that you need to win. The idea of the work is also very important for jury, as well as its presentation, complicacy (both of the model and of the scene) and quality of performance.
The contest is supported by the best companies of the 3D world, and so the prizes for the first places look amazing. Also, everyone has an opportunity to receive the additional prizes. Read conditions at the bottom of the page.
We’re waiting for your works from September 15 to December 08.
Good luck and happy rendering!
Share your art and chat with other artists - we are sure that creative and friendly atmosphere of the competition will help the growth of each participant. See previous challenges >
We receive your works from September 15 to December 8 (inclusive). Submissions end at 15:00 (GMT). For your convenience we have set the timer on the page, but don't forget to update it. The competition has one general category.
Create a car 3D model, add 3D environment and textures (you can create more than one car in the scene). Then create a beautiful 3D rendering of it (or them). Think creative. We will accept also pickups, vans and small trucks. Military tanks/fighting vehicles, large trucks (semi-trucks), buses, motorcycles as "main character" are not accepted.
Your entry must be a 3d rendered image. Environment should be made in 3D; we permit the use of HDRi for sky and some small parts of landscape. No texture/polycount limit.
Renders with one color background (black, white etc), test renders, not completed pixelated and low quality renders, screenshots and models laid on wallpapers or on photos will not be admitted to take part in the competition. As well as works with adult content: not allowed works with blood, violence, erotic and political topics.
Using of third-party assets such as vegetation, street elements is allowed. Car models should be made by you in 3D modeling software.
Enhancing your rendering in post is allowed – That includes things like color adjustments, compositing render layers/passes, and adding effects like smoke, fire, particles, etc. Adding photographic elements (like cut out characters or vegetation) or doing paintovers or photobashing is not allowed.
The work must not have been previously published anywhere, neither online or offline. It must be original art created by you specifically for the challenge (no existing projects, stock/free car models or concepts made by other artists).
You have to submit a link to the "Work in process" to prove the authorship. WIP must contain main steps of the car modeling or screenshots with unsmoothed version of the model. You are free to make WIP on any CG website: ArtStation, CgSociety, Polycount, Behance etc (please don't use temporary storages, such as Dropbox, Google Drive etc and social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram etc). Works without WIP will not be accepted.
You can submit only one work: one final render and one clay/wire render of the scene.
Please, provide your work with a short story, describe the image.
Attach one wireframe or clay render of a full scene to your work.
Add the name or URL of the competition in one of the image corners. You can add your name and title of the work as well. Emails, logos, phone numbers are not allowed.
The render should be at least 1500 pixels wide if the work is horizontal.
Render size should not exceed 2 mb and should be in .JPG format.
Work can be in any style you like (low-poly, cartoon, futuristic etc), with using post production.
The work can be updated during the competition. The only condition - you can not change the idea of the work, or modify it drastically. Only reasonable changes allowed.
You can correct the description and the list of tools after the work was submitted - just contact us.
After your work is published on the competition page, you are free to share your work on other websites and social networks. Don't forget about the hashtag, so we could Like and share it too.
You can see previous competitions here and "Hall of fame" here.
After sending the work via the contact form you will receive within one business day a confirmation letter with a link to a page in the competition gallery. If you don't receive the letter, please contact us.
Within one week after the competition ends the jury will determine the winners and we will publish the results. We will estimate the idea of your work, visual component, atmosphere and total amount of the work done.
Waiting eagerly for your work!
